Intruduction
Are you a developer, coder or machine learning expert? Are algorithms and data visualisation your strengths? And you would also enjoy working with a team to develop creative solutions for the Smart Factory? Then the Audi Smart Factory Hackathon is just right for you.
Following its successful debut last year, the Smart Factory Hackathon will be returning for a new round in 2017.
Smart Factory Hackathon
We show you our factory and provide you with actual production and logistics data. We will open the plant gates and take you on individual tours so you can see where our challenges lie. This year we will focus particularly on machine learning solutions, among other areas. After you have had a look around in our plant and received an in-depth briefing by our production and IT experts, it will be your turn. Working in teams of three to five persons, you will develop new Smart Factory solutions in 25 hours and implement them in prototypes.
Why 25 hours? For the symbolic value of the 25th hour – a concept that we at Audi call “The extra hour”, meaning the hour we give back to our customers with our digital services and mobility solutions in the automobile.
During the prototyping you will have the support of Audi experts from Production and IT. And after the 25 hours are up, you will pitch your ideas to the audience and the jury.
In addition to attractive prizes – for example a top-class Audi driving experience in Finland – you will have the chance to follow up on your ideas at Audi and possibly see them applied in actual use on the road.
When and where?
The Smart Factory Hackathon will be held from 4 – 6 October 2017 at the Audi Ingolstadt plant. The creative atmosphere in a cool location and a varied accompanying programme guarantee 2 fun-packed days of innovation, programming and networking with like-minded people and Audi experts. We’ll also arrange all your meals and accommodation for you.
