Our goal is to get more people involved with environmental efforts by making it easier than ever to participate. Footprint allows users to fight against climate change with three main features. Users can...
- Quickly offset their carbon footprint from travel
- Easily send emails to their local representatives promoting legislation changes
- Learn more about sustainability tips and environmental efforts in their community
Here is a more in-depth look into our three key features.
Offsetting Carbon Footprint
Our app automatically detects a user's travel distance. When the user logs in, that app suggests an option to offset their recent trips. For example, if the user took a plane trip across the country, or drove down the street to buy groceries, our app will detect and approximate the distance. Then their approximate carbon footprint and the amount of money to offset their footprint will be generated. The user can either offset the entire trip or a custom portion. Instead of having to log their trips, our application will do most of the heavy lifting, so all they have to do is confirm and donate. Users still have the option to manually log and edit suggested trips.
Sending Emails Promoting Legislation Changes
Our app provides a stream of the latest environmental issues and allows users to quickly send emails to their local representatives about said issues. All the user has to do is click on the article, preview the pre-written email, and press send. This feature gives users a way to make a direct impact on environmental legislation without having to spend money.
Learning More & Getting Involved
Our app also provides a community forum page. Users can do everything from sharing sustainability tips to organizing a local community garden. Users can follow topics they’re interested in and get directly involved with their community.
Again, our goal is to get more people involved with environmental efforts by making it easier than ever to participate. We want our users to make a real impact on environmental efforts. We want them to make a real change.
