“Systemic racial injustice, racism and police brutality are not new to the United States of America. This terrible issue was again brought to the forefront as police officers, within a week of each other, devastatingly murdered Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and George Floyd. Their murders -lives cut short- sparked country-wide, community-led movements and protests with far reaching global impacts. Different people and communities across the country and world unified under the “Black Lives Matter” statement and protest. The anger, frustration, and weight felt amongst many black Americans spanned a global movement that inspired the start of many mutual aid groups and community led organizations.
How do we support organizations that are working toward equality and equity economically and socially? So many documents sharing and resource sharing --is there a way we can use AI/ML to sift through all of the posts being shared and collect them in one area? Mobile devices have proved to be incredibly useful in revealing hidden truths and social media has been a way for community organizers to mobilize volunteers. Are there other devices/apps/infrastructure that can support organizations in their work? How to assist in standing against racial injustice?”
