Job description
We are looking for a SRE Engineer for Stepwise, Warsaw-based Software House, who would like to join an engineering-oriented company. Our mindset is strongly Developer oriented and what’s more important we believe in constant education and new technology discovery. The most important asset from your side will be a strong technical skill set and commercial experience in cloud based technologies.
We are looking for a person who is independent and would like to have a real impact on the products, the shape of teams and the way we work. In short, we are looking for a person who will: roll up their sleeves and start churning out great work from day one.
Your technical skill set is important, however, we will choose based on your personality and attitude. See below Hiring Process description:
1. Telephone conversation (20-30 minutes)
2. Short technical verification by Stepwise (15-20 minutes)
3. Technical meeting with the client (30 minutes)
4. Meeting with the client (30 minutes)
5. Decision and feedback
Technology Skills:
- Scripting languages: ARM templates, Biceps, Terraform, Shell scripts
- CICD tools: Azure Devops, Github actions
- OS: Linux (RHEL), Windows(Good to have)
- Orchestrators: Kubernetes
- Observability: Azure monitor, Prometheus , ELK(good to have)

Requirements and qualifications
- You have around 3-4 years of professional experience
- You are a skilled Backend DevOps lead engineer, with a development background in a Linux (RHEL) environment and who has experience with commercial applications.
- Experience in close cooperation with product teams to understand their requirement for provisioning resources/services in Azure in a DevSecOps way.
- Experience in provisioning IaaS (VMs, Bastion hosts), PaaS(AKS, Azure SQLt, Web Application firewall) azure services in an automated way using Github Actions, Azure Resource Manager templates/Biceps
- Very good understanding of implementing security in front of the IaaS and PaaS services like Web Applications Firewall, Private Endpoints etc.
- Good understanding of implementing Azure RBAC for all the azure services like Azure Key Vault, Azure Kubernetes Services, Azure SQL etc.
- Good understanding of analyzing the Azure Sentinel solution to increase the security score of the services implemented
- Troubleshooting skills to analyze issues in Kubernetes environment , Virtual machines, DevOps agents/runners, Azure application gateways.
- Ability to observe services running in Azure and On-Prem and work with the product team for solving priority environment and application related issues.
- Experience in designing and implementing next-generation high availability, scalable cloud architecture.
- Understanding of application integration, event driven architecture and integrating multiple microservices.
- Good knowledge of English (min. B2 level)
