The world's largest Health and Beauty Retailer, AS Watson, calls on all young creatives, innovators, and data heroes to reinvent loyalty in retail! We challenge you to come up with new, innovative engagement and loyalty ideas and solutions aimed at attracting, engaging, and deepening connections with the young audience of Generation Z and Alpha.

About the Hackathon
At AS Watson, we believe in pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the retail industry. Our 24-hour Hackathon is a unique opportunity for students eager to make a real impact in the world of customer engagement and loyalty programs within the AS Watson Offline + Online (O+O) strategy.

Customer Engagement and Loyalty Programs in O+O Strategy
Embrace the challenge of developing innovative solutions that bridge the gap between offline and online retail experiences. Dive into the world of customer engagement and loyalty programs, where creativity meets technology to enhance the shopping journey for our customers. We invite you to solve one of the three presented challenges, all focused on the research question: how can ASW leverage its O+O strategy to enhance customer engagement and drive loyalty?
Hackathon Challenges for the Participants
You can submit your solution within one of the themes below.
1. Gamification in Retail
Developing ways to integrate game-like elements into the retail programs and experiences to foster deeper engagement and connections with clients.
2. Digital Loyalty Programs
Crafting digital solutions that cultivate customer loyalty by offering personalized and unique experiences.
3. Generative AI
Employing advanced artificial intelligence, especially generative AI, to create distinctive and tailored customer interactions.

Who We're Looking For
We are seeking passionate and forward-thinking students with the following requirements:
- Students from colleges and/or universities, undergraduates or post graduates (Bachelor or Master)
- Colleges and universities located in The Netherlands, UK and Italy
- Participants are aged from min. 18 years of age with a good command of English
With a keen interest in:
- User Experience Design
- Data Analytics
- Artificial Intelligence
- Business Strategy and Marketing

What We’re Looking For
Create the Future of Retail Loyalty Programs for Gen Z & Alpha. No matter which challenge theme you choose, we're seeking bold, innovative ideas that go beyond the conventional. Here's what we’re particularly interested in:
1. Going Beyond Traditional Schemes
Think bold. In order to connect on a deeper level with customers you can move past the traditional concept of point collection and redemption. We're looking for ideas that redefine what loyalty means in a modern retail context!
2. Integration of O+O Strategies
Think of ideas that cleverly combine our Online and Offline (O+O) strategies, leveraging the best of both worlds.
3. Technology and Personalization
Utilize cutting-edge technology and deep personalization to craft experiences that aren't just unique but also highly relevant to individual customers.
4. Unique Brand Experiences
Propose ways to create memorable and distinctive brand experiences that go beyond shopping transactions and foster genuine connections.
5. Resonating with the Young and Dynamic
Your ideas should speak directly to younger demographics, capturing and maintaining their attention in ways that are both powerful and unique.
The last but not least Sustainability and Social Impact 🌍
Incorporate elements that encourage sustainable practices or social responsibility. Show us how loyalty programs can be a force for good.
