CityConnect was created because we noticed a big problem in our city: people see issues every day broken lights, unsafe areas, confusing rules but there is no easy way to report them or get help in a time efficient way. At the same time, residents often feel unsafe walking alone and being alone in ubers, and many newcomers struggle with language barriers that make it hard to understand what’s happening around them.
We asked ourselves: What if one simple tool could give everyone the power to improve the city they live in?
CityConnect is our answer — a mobile app that brings essential services into one trusted platform:
Safety Timer that alerts contacts + authorities if the user doesn’t check in
Damage Reporting with photo & GPS faster repair of city problems
Official Announcements to reduce misinformation and stress
Education Hub with local rules and safety FAQs
Multilingual options (Polish, Ukrainian, English) for real inclusivity
City Calendar including events and shopping Sundays
CityConnect prevents emergencies, protects people when they feel unsafe, and encourages everyone to take small actions that create a better community. By reducing unnecessary 112 calls and helping authorities respond faster, CityConnect directly improves the quality of life in Łódź — especially for young people, foreign residents, and vulnerable groups.
This project was built by students, for citizens and designed to grow as our city grows. With CityConnect, every resident becomes a partner in building the Future Smart City.
together, we protect our city, improve our city, and understand our city — every single day.
