This panel brings together voices from Japan, Poland, and Ukraine to explore how shared innovation and resilience can strengthen both careers and nations. In light of ongoing war in Ukraine, the panel highlights the human side of resilience and explores how individuals and companies can navigate these turbulent times, how to build international careers, and develop future-proof skills.

Two Worlds of Work: Lessons from Japan and Europe

Understanding Japanese and European work styles and values. This panel dives into the fascinating contrasts between Japan’s discipline and collective harmony and Europe’s creativity and individual expression. Together with a delegation of companies visiting from Japan and local guests, we’ll explore how these two worlds meet inside today’s organizations - from communication and leadership styles to career growth, loyalty, and work-life balance.

Live performance: Masato Yokoe - shamisen master

During the event, you’ll experience a special performance by Masato Yokoe, a shamisen master. The shamisen is a traditional three-stringed instrument with a distinctive, percussive sound that has shaped Japanese music and theatre for centuries.


Masato Yokoe is a certified shamisen instructor and World Ambassador of Japanese Green Tea (since 2019). Trained by distinguished teachers, he also pursues his passion for green tea through his collaboration with Takayanagi Seicha, a company with over 150 years of history. He has performed widely across Poland, including at the Matsuri Festival in Warsaw, the Embassy of Japan, and the National Museum in Kraków.

    Tagawa Shikkui Labs Co. Ltd.

    Japan-based building material manufacturer with over 100 years of history, headquartered in Fukuoka. Specializing in traditional Shikkui (Japanese lime plaster), a natural, breathable material, the company blends craftsmanship with modern environmental innovation. Its latest product, LIMIX, is a next-generation lime-based tile that hardens by absorbing CO₂ instead of firing and contains up to 50% recycled materials. Through the LIMIX Ukraine Project, supported by UNIDO, the company recycles war debris into sustainable, CO₂-curing tiles for reconstruction and circular-economy development. Currently in the Feasibility Study stage, the project will advance to pilot production. To prepare, the company is hiring a Project/Operations Manager to coordinate on-site activities and stakeholder engagement, and a Factory Operations Manager to oversee pilot-line production, quality, and safety. Candidates should be self-motivated, globally minded, and fluent in English (Japanese a plus).
