Registration for the 10th edition of the international Deadline24 programming marathon has started

The final of the 10th jubilee edition of the international programming marathon Deadline24 will take place on 7- 8 of April 2018. The online elimination is already open for the enthusiasts of algorithmics from around the world. Its results will determine who will take part in the grand finale.

Registration of three-person teams, who want to compete with other contestants from around the globe at the virtual arena, will last until February 22, 2018. Registration for the 10th edition of the event is possible through the form available on the website. The qualifying round will take place on Sunday, February 25, 2018.

2 Stages

The marathon is divided into two stages. First one is the qualifying round, during which the registered teams will struggle to solve tasks for 5 hours and this will be verified by server. This part of the competition is carried out remotely. For the final — which lasts for 24 hours — teams with the best scores obtained during the elimination will be invited.

A bit of history

For the first time, Deadline24 took place in 2009. Initially, the event had a local character, however, in the course of time, due to the growing interest from participants, it gained international character. In 2017, a record number of competitors registered for the first phase of the marathon — 1950. In the qualifying round, there were the representatives of, among others, Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Russia, Ukraine, the United States, Great Britain, South Africa, Belarus, China, Switzerland, India, and Brazil.

Since the very beginning, Future Processing (FP), the company from Gliwice, is responsible for producing the software of highest quality.

FP has been developing its competences in the realm of Machine Learning for years by successfully implementing its knowledge into such areas as medical imaging, supervising the quality of production, co-creating smart cities, or commerce. One of the company’s projects is Cardio4D, a computational platform, which aims to increase the efficiency of medical imaging in case of patients with ischemic heart disease.

Among the leading projects, which involve FP, there are the research and development project ECONIB, the innovative product which is to be implemented in everyday clinical practice for improving the efficiency of cancer treatment, and CIVICO, the solution that enables to change the traditional monitoring into Intelligent Image Analysis System, which detects dangerous and undesired situations such as vandalism or wrong-way driving.

FP is also one of three Silesian companies creating the FP Space consortium. Its objectives are, among others, to build the Intuition-1 satellite with the most powerful on-board computer and advanced tools serving for Earth observation, and to support the construction of the 4th Polish satellite PW-Sat2.
