About Start Hack 2019

This is the fourth edition of Start Hack, and it will take place in St. Gallen, Switzerland on March 8, 2019! Join us fo 35 hours coding event, solve one of the 8 cases we have and put into practice your programming skills. Challenge yourself, make new friends and get ready for the best hackathon experience yet!


Can I take part in Start Hack 2019?

Yes, you can if you are a university student or a young professional. There is a possibility to join us if you are a beginner programmer and also if you didn’t study in a field related to IT. We accept people from all over the world!


How much I need to pay?

Join us for free thanks to our partners! We will prepare all the food and drinks you need, and we may be able to reimburse part of your travel expenses!


What if I don't have a team?

You can apply solo or with your team (up to 4 people). At the beginning of the Start Hack challenge we will have the team formation, so you can join one team or complete yours.

Technology

  • Artificial Intelligence

    • AI is the design and use of programs and systems that exhibit human intelligence. Specialized and generalised AI is taking over all kinds of tasks, ranging from predicting occurrences to question answering.
  • Augmented and Virtual Reality

    • AR & VR are visual computer simulations that are displayed to viewers for entertaining, educational, medical or marketing purposes. VR creates an immersive digital reality, whereas AR displays digital layers on top of the real world.
  • Blockchain technology

    • The blockchain enables decentralised and immutable recordkeeping of information that facilitates the process of recording changes in a network. Public and private blockchains offer an alternative to traditional intermediaries for making transactions of any kind.
  • The Internet of Things

    • IoT connects all kinds of devices to the internet and to each other. It enables applications ranging from smart homes to the fourth industrial revolution and is mainly empowered by various smart devices.
