Who Can Participate?

If you are a creative problem-solver who cares about reliability, security, and building systems that matter - you’re exactly who we’re looking for. This hackathon is designed for individuals or teams (up to 5 people):

  • mid-senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineers and Data & Analytics Specialists
  • outstanding students with strong technical portfolios are also welcomed
  • participants ready to attend the on-site event in Kraków (in-person presence is required)

You’ll choose from two tailored challenge tracks - each designed to reflect real engineering work at Euroclear.

💻 Cloud & Infrastructure 🛡️

Enter a simulated Azure environment. Find hidden flaws in critical systems, fix them, and recommend how to make the infrastructure secure, reliable, and ready for real-world demands.

Azure, DevOps, Terraform, CI/CD, monitoring, security best practices

📊 Data & Analytics 🔎

Explore a fictional banking dataset. Uncover patterns that might point to suspicious or illegal financial activity: fraud, money laundering, sanctions evasion etc.

Your mission:

Become the analyst behind global compliance.

Tech focus:

Python, SQL, Power BI, MLOps, pattern recognition, ethical data analysis

How To Join?

  • Click the "Take the challenge" button and register solo or with a team between August 21 and October 12, 2025.

  • Pick your track: Cloud & Infrastructure or Data & Analytics and wait for the details of your task.

  • Show up in Kraków on October 13, work on your project, present your results in front of the Jury, and maybe… secure your next career move 😉


Judging Criteria

Each participant may choose only one track (Cloud or Data & Analytics) to compete in. The chosen track must be confirmed before the competition starts and cannot be changed once the hackathon begins.

Cloud - Problem Identification – 35%
The participant correctly identifies all intended issues, vulnerabilities, and misconfigurations in the provided environment.
Cloud - Solution Proposal & Implementation – 35%
The participant proposes and if possible implements a viable fix in accordance with industry best practices.
Cloud - Presentation & Communication – 30%
The participant presents the solution clearly during the final presentation, answers jury questions effectively, and demonstrates understanding of the solution.
Data & Analytics - Anomaly & Pattern Identification – 35%
The participant correctly identifies suspicious transactions, unusual patterns, or indicators of potential fraud, money laundering, or sanctions evasion.
Data & Analytics - Analytical Justification – 35%
The participant provides clear reasoning and evidence for each finding, grounded in the dataset. Suggestions for possible follow-up investigations are a plus.
Data & Analytics - Presentation & Communication – 30%
The participant presents the analysis clearly during the final presentation, answers jury questions effectively, and demonstrates a deep understanding of the findings.

Prior to joining Euroclear, he served as Head of Distribution, Services Models & Digital Banking; Deputy Head IRB Retail and SME at BNP Paribas. Previously - CIO of Cortal Consors responsible for the IT teams building Hellobank! in Germany. And prior to this, he had a variety of senior roles at BNP Paribas including being in charge of Web and Mobile for BNP Paribas Personal Investors; heading Business Development in the European, Mediterranean and South American regions; and finally he was in charge of Digital Coordination at BNP Investment Solutions. A proud father of two and is passionate about history, food and rugby (proud supporter of the Portuguese Lobos…) He is a founder and inspired entrepreneur, still part owning Ptitchef.com, one Europe largest food tech startups.

    Engineer with PhD in Applied Mathematics 15 years in (BNP Paribas) Fortis, among which 12 years in various front office roles (dealing room). The rest in the data department, leading data science acitivites. 5 years in Euroclear, leading the department in charge of Data capabilities. We are operating the group data platforms and making them evolve. We help the data office enforce data governance principles, we provide reporting capabilities to the group, as well as analytics & AI. Regarding AI, we host the AI CoE for the group, proving tech watch, advisory, strategy, thought leadership as well as delivering use cases in various domains.

    Citizen Developer Team Manager at Euroclear

    Holds a master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Technology in Krakow. With over seven years at Euroclear as a Citizen Developer, she currently leads a transversal team delivering innovative solutions using technologies such as Power BI, Power Platform, VBA, RPA, and Druid. She was also a finalist in Euroclear’s internal hackathon earlier this year, showcasing her passion for innovation and problem-solving.

    A passionate achiever, motivated by reaching almost unachievable goals. He has changed his professional path from music to IT. He joined ING Bank in 2006 and helped set up the technology center in Poland. In 2022, he joined Euroclear as the Group Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and in 2023, he also became the Branch Manager for a newly opened Tech Hub in Poland. He sets high standards for himself and is a passionate runner, having completed several marathons and ultramarathons.
