Who can vote for projects?
Public voting to choose projects will be held on the Challenge website at - www.nvidia.challengerocket.com. All users with a Challengerocket.com account can vote.

Who can participate in the Challenge?
Participation in the Challenge is open to anyone with knowledge and skills, as well as teams of up to 5 participants. Startups are also welcome to join.

Can I submit an application if I’m a co-author?
Yes, group or individual work can be submitted to the Challenge. By entering the Challenge, the participant declares that the project is designed for the purpose of the Challenge, is authored or co-authored (in the case of teamwork), and does not infringe on any third-party rights. Thus, the participant assumes total and unlimited liability for any third-party claims directed to the Challenge Organizer.

Who is the organizer of the Challenge?
NVIDIA’s invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI - the next era of computing - with the GPU acting as the brain of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. Today, NVIDIA is increasingly known as "the AI computing company".

What are the prizes of the Challenge?
All prices are approximated may vary. The prizes of this Challenge are as follows: ● Grand Prize: cash prize of $10,000, NVIDIA TITAN Xp, NVIDIA ® Jetson™ TX2 Developer Kit and Deep Learning Institute training with a total value of $11,799 USD; ● 2ND place prize: cash prize of $7,000, NVIDIA TITAN Xp, NVIDIA ® Jetson™ TX2 Developer Kit and Deep Learning Institute training with a total value of $8,799 USD; ● 3RD place prize: cash prize of $5,000, NVIDIA TITAN Xp, NVIDIA ® Jetson™ TX2 Developer Kit and Deep Learning Institute training with a total value of $6,799 USD; ● Honorable mention prize: NVIDIA TITAN Xp, NVIDIA ® Jetson™ TX2 Developer Kit and Deep Learning Institute training with a total value of $12,593 USD ; ● Public Voters Choice prize: cash prize of $1,000, NVIDIA TITAN Xp, NVIDIA ® Jetson™ TX2 Developer Kit and Deep Learning Institute training (1) with a total value of $2,799 USD. In addition to the prizes mentioned above, the finalists will be invited to GTC, Silicon Valley to present their working solution to the NVIDIA judges.

If we are an organization, do we have to select the leader?
Each team must appoint one individual (Representative) to be responsible for entering a submission. The appointed member might be responsible to receive and distribute the award among all team members.

Can I send more than one application?
Yes, but they must differ, according to the terms and regulations.

Can I apply even though I’m under 18?
No, to participate in the Challenge, you have to be 18 years or older.

Can I apply even though I am not a resident of USA?
Yes, the Challenge is open to legal residents of the following countries: The United States of America (excluding Puerto Rico and its other territories and possessions), Canada (excluding the Province of Quebec), Columbia, The United Kingdom, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India (excluding the state of Tamil Nadu), Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxemburg, Mainland China (excluding Macau), Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, The Netherlands, Turkey, and Ukraine.

What do I need to do if I want to participate?
You will need to create or update a reliably functioning prototype using NVIDIA Jetson TX2 or Jetson TX1, provide a software/or hardware architectural diagram, images, and a video that demonstrates your project.

If I win, do I keep ownership of my project?
Yes, you will retain Intellectual Property ownership of your project.

What language should I use for the submission?
All submissions must be in English or translated accordingly. You can include subtitles or audio bubbles in your video.

Why do I have to upload a video?
For two reasons. First, to show your work; second, to be able to participate in the public voting. Submissions must contain a video, at least one image and text description depicting and describing the created project. You also need to include a software or hardware architectural diagram when submitting the project. The submission and all its assets must be publicly available during the judging period. The Public Choice Award will be determined by public voting. A video helps to ensure that all users can view and experience your solution. The video will also be helpful to the panel of judges. You may create a screencast or use a handheld video camera to make your video, or choose any other method that captures the solution’s value and user interface.

As a team member, do I have to register for the Challenge?
Yes, each team member must register for the Challenge and list the agreed team name and NVIDIA Developer Program (http://nvda.ws/2imZpvf). By doing so, the Organizer and Administrator are able to determine which team member belongs to a specific group.

Who will verify my submission?
Submitted works will initially be screened by a qualified internal panel selected by the Administrator or Organizer at its sole discretion. After being screened by the Organizer and/or the Administrator for basic functionality and accordance with these Terms, the finalist submissions will be judged by an expert judging panel determined by the Organizer and Administrator.

If I win, can I cooperate with NVIDIA later on?
Winners receive prizes and may be invited to develop their projects in cooperation with NVIDIA.

When can I be disqualified from the Challenge?
If the Organizer, the Administrator, or the Judges, in their discretion, find any submission to be unacceptable, then such submission shall be deemed disqualified. In particular, submissions will not be accepted and may be disqualified if they: ● are illegal, depicts hatred, offensive or derogatory towards any specific race, ethnic group, or culture; ● are offensive or derogatory towards the Organizer or Administrator; ● might adversely affect the reputation and goodwill of the Organizer or Administrator; ● cast the Organizer in a false, derogatory, or negative light; ● contain obscene language, pornography or depict sexual activity; ● incite violence and not in good taste; ● demonstrate a lack of respect for public morals or conduct.

Can I exchange my prize?
The prizes cannot be exchanged, either for a monetary equivalent or for a prize other than the one granted.

Who pays for the fees related to prizes?
Winners are responsible for any fees associated with receiving or using a prize, including but not limited to, wiring fees. The Participant receiving the prizes is also solely responsible for covering any potential tax payments.

Will I receive a proof of participation in the Challenge?
At the discretion of the Administrator, each Participant of a Challenge will receive a digital Certificate of Participation issued by the Administrator.

This year, the GTC conference welcomed over 8,000 attendees. Next year promises to be even better!

If chosen to present as a finalist at GTC Silicon Valley, what does this trip include?
Finalists will be flown on an all-expense paid trip to GTC in Silicon Valley, California for the opportunity to present their Jetson-enabled creation. This includes: ● Round-trip economy/coach class airfare (or other travel arrangement depending on the winner’s proximity to the trip destination). The Administrator will pay for up to two members per team (not solo/individuals. At the discretion of the Administrator, more members of the team may be asked to make the trip to GTC to present their work; ● Round-trip airport shuttle transfer; ● Accommodations at a hotel of Organizer’s choosing (one double-occupancy room).

When will I fly to GTC in Silicon Valley if I’m a finalist?
The Organizer will attempt to notify the finalists of the itinerary and proposed date(s) for travel no later than two weeks prior to expected date of departure. Finalists must be available for travel on the dates specified by the Organizer.

Will NVIDIA pay for my visa?
The Organizer will provide an appropriate invitation letter to GTC, however all finalists are expected to secure visa (if needed) on their own.

When will I receive the prize if I win?
All prizes will be delivered within 45 business days of the Organizer or Administrator’s receipt of the required forms in complete and correct form.
