Orange Hackathon – Camara API

          What is the Orange CAMARA API Hackathon?It’s a contest organized by Orange Poland, aimed at creating innovative solutions using the Camara API. The hackathon concludes with an on-site finale on March 20, 2025, at Orange Polska (Aleje Jerozolimskie 160, 02-326 Warsaw – Lab 5G). The Orange CAMARA API enables applications developers to leverage advanced connectivity, precise positioning, and security features. It provides: ✅ Boost network quality on demand – Ensures seamless, high-speed connectivity in real-time, even in congested areas or low-signal environments. ✅ Provide precise location tracking – Goes beyond GPS, using telecom infrastructure for indoor positioning, high-accuracy location tracking, and real-time movement detection in areas where traditional GPS fails (e.g., tunnels, dense urban zones). ✅ Real-time SIM Swap API – Enhances security by detecting SIM card changes, preventing fraud, and protecting user accounts from SIM swap attacks, which are co

          Who can participate?Anyone with an interest in innovation—students, professionals, designers, developers, entrepreneurs, and tech enthusiasts—is welcome. Whether you’re a seasoned coder or new to hackathons, you're welcome to register! Formal eligibility requirements: - Anyone 18 years or older with full legal capacity.
- Participants must accept the Terms and Conditions of the hackathon.
- Employees of ChallengeRocket and their immediate family members cannot participate.
- Employees of Orange Polska can participate but will be considered in a separate prize pool.

          Is there a registration fee?No, the hackathon is free of charge. 
- 
          Can I join individually or do I need a team?You may join individually or as a team of 2 to 5 members. If you join individually, you’ll be considered a solo participant (though forming or joining a team during the hackathon might still be possible if desired). Just keep in mind: - Each participant can only belong to one team.
- Teams can have between 2 and 5 people maximum.

          Can I form or join multiple teams?No, each participant may only be a member of one team. 
- 
          Can I register more than once or attempt multiple times?No. Each participant may only register once. If you are found to be using multiple accounts you may be disqualified. 
- 
          What are the key dates?Hackathon Duration: January 31, 2024 – March 20, 2025 Project Concept Submission Deadline: March 13, 2025 Finalist Announcement: March 14, 2025 On-Site Finals & Winners Announcement: March 20, 2025

          Where is the final event being held?The on-site session is at Orange Polska (Aleje Jerozolimskie 160, 02-326 Warsaw – Lab 5G) on March 20, 2025.

          What am I supposed to build?We challenge you to create a project showcasing the creative usage of the Camara API. 
- 
          How do I qualify for the finals?Project Concept Presentation: Submit it by March 13, 2025. The Jury will review all submissions and select a maximum of 15 final projects by March 14, 2025. 
- 
          What are the prizes?There are two separate prize pools: For non-Orange employees: - 1st Place: 5,000 PLN (gross)
- 2nd Place: 3,000 PLN (gross)
- 3rd Place: 2,000 PLN (gross)
 For Orange employees: - 1st Place: 5,000 PLN (gross)
- 2nd Place: 3,000 PLN (gross)
- 3rd Place: 2,000 PLN (gross)

          When will winners be announced?Winners will be announced on March 20, 2025, via the ChallengeRocket platform and during the on-site event. 
- 
          Do I retain ownership of my hackathon project?Yes. You retain full ownership of all intellectual property rights to your project.
