Our project consists of 3 different modules which interconnect to provide the much  essential automated real time flood alert system.

1.WATER LEVEL SENSING SYSTEM:

Water level sensors with Wifi capabilities could be installed in the dam. Data from the  sensors should be continuously received and monitored

2. WEATHER API (For weather forecast information)

The traditional system lacks in synchronization of weather data and water level data  from the dam required for efficient evacuation. Our project achieves this  synchronization through IOT cloud for which weather information is acquired from  weather API. OpenWeatherMap API is used which can forecast upto16 days in a  geographical location.

3.IOT CLOUD

An application is created to compare the weather data which is obtained from  OpenWeatherMap API and the data from the sensor. It sends SMS based alert for  different levels of flood danger using twilio (SMS Broadcasting API) which can be replaced by public SMS gateway on real time large scale implementation. A database  local police officials and bus drivers is added to the cloud which is used for efficientevacuation by providing public transport services.
