The system incorporates chatting, videos, medical images, health Tips, drug- prescription and registrations of patients in real-time environment. The behaviour of the system when the patient wants to share information with the Doctor or Nurse is that of an on-line chatting box.
Messages sent or received from the mobile phone will be served first by the Gateway server. The Gateway server translates the mobile phone request and in turn sends the WML to the mobile phone in a compressed WML format. The patient will receive feedback from the doctor.
The web server interacts with the cloud integration with the firebase storage via JAVA script, it also receive query, update, and execute the query, the result are sent as a SMS reply for feedback with the Gateway for linkage with a 3G/4G Mobile. The modelling is based on set theory and scheduling algorithm. The set theory indicate the sets of doctors and patients and the scheduling algorithm will be used for the mapping process of the doctor to patient interactions.
The system design consist of two platforms: the Hardware and the Software. The hardware platform is the Mobile Phone that is compatible with an embedded software.
The software is the mobile application with 3G or 4G network connectivity. The system design consist of a three-tier-based architecture which can be outlined as follows:
- Presentation layer: It consists of a Web browser and of its extensions (PHP and JavaScript’s) which acts as user interface for accessing the primary health care database.
- Middleware layer: It consists of a Web server and of its extensions (Servlets and other Java applications) which allow access to storage layer for information retrieval and update for suitable presentation to the user.
- Storage layer: It consists of database which made up of patient demographics and on-line registration.
The system will exploit the advantage of wireless technology to satisfy different communities.
PROJECT MOTIVATION
v According to one of the basic principles of health care system of Alma Ata, 1978 - Appropriate Technology – The technology (methods of care, service delivery, procedures and equipment) should be simple and scientifically sound. It should also be within the reach of the individual/community. This project work incorporate the appropriate technology to enhance doctor-to-patient interactions because primary health care is an essential health care services based on practical, scientifically sound and socially acceptable method.
v The phone based technology is universally acceptable to individual’s and families in the developing countries, it will help participation at a cost that a community and country can afford because mobile phones in developing countries have a major geographical spread even than most basic amenities.
v This project will help people who live hours from advance medical care of basic medical services to access medical services at the comfort of their home.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE
Health Information system in which each family has an up-to-date family folder is a valuable tool for maintaining, analysing and interpreting data. The phone-based medical consultation for primary health care services will seek to:
(a) Design phone-based medical consultation for support, management and medical diagnosis.
(b) To implement (a) above.
