The main purpose of our project is to help people who suffer from domestic violence or abuse from their husbands, wives or life parteners. As the smartphone market is constantly growing in Romania, we believe that through an Android app we can reach more people and not only inform them, but help them escape from lives filled with abuse, hurt and helplessness. 

In Romania, domestic violence, especially when a man inflicts abuse on a woman is considered "natural" as many believe it to be socially accepted. Stereotypes such as "a husband beating a wife is a form of affection" or that a woman is considered the propriety of a man are deeply rooted in most of the Romanian mentalities. Even though, thousands of cases are reported yearly,  there are many people who suffer from domestic abuse, but refuse to do anything about it due to lack of information, alternatives or they are simply afraid.

SARMI, the app we created has also features that enables the app to contact the emergency people from the agenda and also police in cases life threatening situations. Moreover, designed with special features to help the victim and offer solutions such as shelters, location, recording and emergency messages, SARMI can improve the quality of life of many victims and give them hope for a better one.
