Who is the Organizer of the Hackathon?
Mercari is an e-commerce company founded in February 2013 and currently operating in Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Their main product, the “Mercari” marketplace app, was first launched in Japan in July 2013, and has since grown to become the country's largest community-powered marketplace with over JPY 10 billion in transactions carried out on the platform each month.

How much does it cost to participate?
There’s no entry fee for this Mercari Euro Hack 2018.

Do I have to pay for transport and accommodation?
We will cover the actual travel & accommodation cost on presenting the receipts of participants travelling from outside Warsaw - up to a maximum of €400 per person if traveling outside Poland and up to €200 if traveling within Poland. If a participant spends more than €400 (traveling outside Poland) or €200 (traveling within Poland), he/she will cover the excess cost.

Who can participate?
You must be 18 years of age or older to be eligible to participate in this Hackathon. Participation in the Mercari Euro Hack 2018 is open to individual with knowledge and skills, as well as teams of up to 4 participants. More info here.

How do I participate?
This hackathon is divided into two phases. After you've signed up for the hackathon there is a Phase I code challenge waiting for team leaders, or individuals without teams. After phase I assessment shortlisted participants will be invited to Phase II onsite hackathon. For more details about the hackathon, please refer to the Terms.

Who will have to complete the code challenge?
Team leaders, or individuals without a team are required to complete the code challenge. IIf you are in a team but not the team leader, you are not the one to complete the code challenge.

What are the prizes of the Hackathon?
The prizes of Mercari Euro Hack 2018 are as follows: ● Grand Prize: €4,000, ● 2nd place prize: €2,500, ● 3rd place prize: €1,000. Additionaly, winners of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will receive all expense paid trips to Tokyo, Japan.

Will there be an opportunity to communicate to other participants?
Yes, all participants can join to Gitter channel, where everyone will be able to communicate and discuss solutions.

Is there a limit of people who will be qualified for Phase II of the Mercari Euro Hack 2018 (on-site Hackathon)?
Yes, the participants will be shortlisted. We will notify chosen participants about an invitation to the Phase II of the Hackathon.
